Recovery and nutrition

Workouts matter more when recovery, food, and sleep are consistent too.

Protein

Try to include a solid protein source in each meal to support muscle repair after training.

Hydration

Drink water before, during, and after workouts so your performance does not drop.

Sleep

Aim for enough sleep each night because recovery and growth are harder when you are always tired.

Healthy Meal for Recovery

Grilled Chicken Recovery Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 grilled chicken breast
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice or quinoa
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli
  • 1/2 avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice or quinoa according to package directions.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and grill for about 6–8 minutes per side.
  3. Steam the broccoli until tender.
  4. Slice the avocado and tomatoes.
  5. Add rice to a bowl and place the chicken, broccoli, avocado, and tomatoes on top.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the bowl and serve.
